Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by HaulConnect ("we", "us", "our"), a haulage and logistics coordination company operating in Nigeria. By submitting a quote request, engaging our services, or using our website at haulconnect.com.ng, you ("the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Nature of Service

HaulConnect is a logistics coordination and management company. We facilitate the transportation of goods by coordinating with a network of independent truck owners and haulage operators ("Carriers") on behalf of our customers.

While we present a unified service to our customers, the physical transportation of goods is carried out by independent Carriers who are not employees or agents of HaulConnect. HaulConnect acts as a logistics manager and coordinator, not as a common carrier.

HaulConnect does not own or operate the vehicles used to transport your goods. Our role is to source, vet, brief, and manage Carriers on your behalf.

2. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes provided by HaulConnect are estimates based on the information provided by the Customer at the time of the request. Final pricing may vary if the actual job details differ materially from what was described.

Quotes are valid for the period stated at the time of issue. HaulConnect reserves the right to revise a quote if there is a material change in fuel prices, road conditions, cargo specifications, or other relevant factors.

A quote does not constitute a binding contract. A binding agreement is formed only when HaulConnect confirms acceptance of a job in writing (via WhatsApp, email, or other written communication) and the Customer confirms acceptance of the quoted price.

3. Payment Terms

Payment terms will be agreed upon before each job is confirmed. HaulConnect may require a deposit before commencement of any job. The balance is due upon delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.

HaulConnect accepts payment by bank transfer and other agreed methods. All payments must be made to HaulConnect directly. Payments made directly to a Carrier without HaulConnect's express written authorisation will not be recognised as settlement of any amount owed to HaulConnect.

In the event of non-payment or late payment, HaulConnect reserves the right to suspend services, withhold future bookings, and pursue recovery of outstanding amounts through all legal means available.

4. Customer Responsibilities

The Customer is responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information about the cargo, including type, weight, dimensions, fragility, and any special handling requirements.
  • Ensuring the cargo is properly packaged and ready for collection at the agreed time and location.
  • Ensuring that a responsible person is available at both pickup and delivery locations to oversee loading and offloading.
  • Ensuring that the goods being transported are legal and do not violate any applicable Nigerian laws or regulations.
  • Obtaining any permits, licences, or documentation required for the transportation of specific goods.

HaulConnect shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or delay arising from the Customer's failure to meet these responsibilities.

5. Prohibited Goods

HaulConnect will not knowingly transport the following:

  • Illegal substances, narcotics, or contraband of any kind
  • Weapons, ammunition, or explosives
  • Stolen property or goods of unknown or suspicious origin
  • Hazardous materials without proper declaration, packaging, and permits
  • Human remains without the appropriate documentation and authority
  • Any goods prohibited by Nigerian law

If prohibited goods are discovered after a job has commenced, HaulConnect reserves the right to immediately terminate the job without refund and to report the matter to the appropriate authorities. The Customer shall bear full liability for any consequences arising from the transportation of prohibited goods.

6. Liability and Limitation

HaulConnect takes reasonable care in vetting and managing its Carrier network. However, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, HaulConnect's liability is limited as follows:

  • HaulConnect shall not be liable for loss or damage to goods caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to accidents, theft, natural disasters, civil unrest, FRSC or police seizure, road closures, or acts of God.
  • HaulConnect shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses arising from delay, loss, or damage to goods in transit.
  • Where HaulConnect is found liable for direct loss or damage to goods, our maximum liability shall not exceed the value of the agreed transportation fee for that specific job.
  • HaulConnect strongly recommends that Customers obtain goods-in-transit insurance for high-value cargo. HaulConnect can assist in arranging this on request.

The Customer accepts that, by engaging HaulConnect's services, they accept these limitations as a reasonable allocation of risk between the parties.

7. Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time will incur no charge. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled pickup may incur a cancellation fee of up to 25% of the agreed job value to cover costs already incurred.

Rescheduling requests should be made as early as possible. HaulConnect will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests but cannot guarantee availability. Rescheduling is subject to Carrier availability and may result in a revised quote.

8. Delays

HaulConnect will communicate estimated transit times in good faith. However, given the nature of road transport in Nigeria, delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to traffic, road conditions, weather, vehicle breakdowns, or other unforeseen circumstances.

HaulConnect shall not be liable for any losses, costs, or damages arising from delivery delays, however caused.

9. Claims and Disputes

Any claim for loss or damage to goods must be reported to HaulConnect in writing within 24 hours of delivery. Claims reported after this period may not be considered.

HaulConnect will investigate all claims promptly and in good faith. We may require photographic evidence, a description of the damage, and other supporting documentation.

In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved amicably, both parties agree to submit to mediation before pursuing litigation. The laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria shall govern these Terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

HaulConnect reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our services after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
